Red Planet Pictures has optioned the rights to THE DOG-FACED GODS trilogy by Sunday Times Number One, and internationally best-selling British author and screenwriter, Sarah Pinborough, and are in development with the first novel, A MATTER OF BLOOD.
The six-part elevated thriller will be exec-produced by Belinda Campbell, Tom Mullens and Caroline Skinner for Red Planet Pictures and adapted by the author herself, who will also executive produce. A number of Pinborough’s hugely popular novels have been adapted for screen including the Netflix smash hit, BEHIND HER EYES starring Eve Hewson and Tom Bateman and forthcoming INSOMNIA, for Paramount+, which Sarah has adapted herself with Vicky McClure in the leading role.
Mind-blowing and heart-stopping, A MATTER OF BLOOD combines a gripping crime thriller, an epic family saga and a genre-blending story with a dash of the supernatural, featuring the magnetic and charismatic Detective Inspector Cass Jones.
Set in a sleek and stylish contemporary London, Cass finds himself on the case of his life; hunting the enigmatic serial killer ‘Mr Solomon’ and is immediately drawn into a dangerous game of cat and mouse. However, it soon becomes clear that this is no ordinary killer, and this is no ordinary chase.
But when Cass’s high-flying older brother, Christian, is found dead alongside his family, Cass finds himself prime suspect for murder. Fighting for his marriage and forced to prove his innocence, Cass goes on a breathtaking ride of twists and turns as he searches for truths that have long been buried. As he begins to realise that the hunt for the serial killer and the death of his brother are connected in strange ways – impossible ways – Cass finds himself in the eye of a storm, uncovering secrets that will destroy everything he thought was true of his family and make him question everything he’s ever believed about this world.
