Death in Paradise makes record return with 7.3 million viewers
The third series of Death in Paradise launched with its biggest overnight audience to date, topping last year’s series debut of 6.9m (28.9%). The show peaked with 7.3m (30.37%) from 9.50pm to 9.55pm and topped BBC1’s slot average of 5.4m (23.5%) for the past 12 months.

Red Planet Pictures is to produce a new, 10-part musical TV drama centred around the iconic sounds of Motown anthems, following a deal with EMI Music Publishing.
The ambitious new production is the product of a joint venture between Tony Jordan, top UK film producer Duncan Kenworthy (Notting Hill, Love Actually, Four Weddings and a Funeral), Peter Smith, former CEO of Cineflix Studios and independent music consultant and former chairman of Universal Music UK John Kennedy, which has concluded a unique deal with EMI Music Publishing, the owners of the publishing rights to Motown’s extensive library of hits.
Tony Jordan will write the series and will executive produce alongside Kenworthy. The show will use the music of Berry Gordy Junior’s famous record label as an integral part of the storyline. The story follows a group of smart thirty-somethings and their search for love and friendship, with the series’ characters singing the songs within the spoken narrative as an intrinsic part of the plot, character and tone of the show.
